What treatment looks like

How many visits does endodontic treatment take?
- Most endodontic treatment can be completed in a single appointment. Your case may differ depending on your tooth's anatomy, so ask the office what to expect for your situation.
What happens if I don't treat an infected tooth?
- Left untreated, decay or infection reaching the pulp can worsen and put the tooth at further risk. Saving the natural tooth through endodontic treatment protects neighboring teeth and your long-term oral health.
Will I need a referral to see the endodontist?
- No outside referral is needed. Dr. Devika Kapoor practices on-site, so your general dentist can coordinate your endodontic care directly within the same office.
How do I know if I need a root canal?
- Signs like a severe toothache, sensitivity to hot or cold, swelling, or a bump on the gums can indicate a problem inside the tooth. Call the office for an evaluation if you notice any of these symptoms.
